travel united states oregon newberg willamette river kayaking
Newberg is bordered on the south by the Willamette River that continues on for several miles into Portland where it joins with the Columbia.
I took my grandchildren, Justice and Alex, kayaking here on a rather peaceful Sunday.
It was the first time I had tried taking anyone with me on the kayak.
After a couple trial runs with each of them alone, they became more relaxed and were able to travel as a threesome with them sitting on the bow and stern instead of in my lap.
We had a great day. It was not too hot and the water was just right.
I introduced them to the "sport" of geo caching which they like immensely.
